Information about the photo:
The photos were taken by Eddie Adams on February 1, 1968. There were taken in Saigon, Vietnam, during the Vietnam war. In the photos appears Nguyễn Ngọc Loan, Nguyễn Văn Lém and different soldiers. The photos show basically the execution of Nguyễn Văn Lém.

Far away in Vietnam
A gun. A man. A Vietnam officer. An execution. A bullet. A war. A soldier. A lot of blood on the ground and a corpse.
In the third photo we can see Nguyen Ngoc Loan aiming at the head of Viet Cong Captain Nguyen Van Lem with a gun. On the left behind the officer, we can see a soldier looking at the situation. And finally in the background, we see a city street. Van Lem is wearing a checked t-shirt, and by his expression we can know he must be feeling scared as he is going to die. The man with the gun is aiming at Van Lem with a gun on his right hand.
In the fourth photo we can see Nguyễn Văn Lém dead in the ground assassinated by Nguyễn Ngọc Loan. The body of Nguyễn Văn Lém on the floor, represents the victory and the uprising of Nguyễn Ngọc Loan. The soldiers escort Nguyễn Ngọc Loan.
In this photo I see once again the cruelty of war, because this image is cruel and insane. The war is bad. The sadness of seeing a person die causes repulsion but I’m convinced that this is the life he has chosen to fight for the freedom of his country. The murderer kills in cold blood he is unscrupulous.
